Well-travelled Group Editor joins Immediate Media Branded Content

06 July 2012

Immediate Media Co’s Branded Content team has appointed former Wanderlust editor Dan Linstead as Group Editor.

Dan took up the new position in June, and will manage the existing editorial team and look to create inspiring and innovative editorial solutions for companies across a varied range of market sectors. He will also help develop and strengthen Immediate Media Branded Content’s existing client portfolio.

Dan was editor of the adventure travel magazine Wanderlust from 2006, and was instrumental in developing it into a successful multi-channel brand, with a host of digital products, events and associated specialist titles.

Dan’s career also includes roles as group editor at John Brown Media, managing a portfolio of print and digital magazines for the mobile network Orange, including their 2.5-million-circulation consumer magazine, O. He also re-launched bmi’s inflight magazine Voyager for Redwood, and as a freelance editor completed projects for Honda, Kia and the Association of Publishing Agencies.

His professional acumen was recognised by the industry in 2011 when he was shortlisted for Editor of the Year at the PPA’s Independent Publisher Awards.

Julie Williams, Director of Immediate Media Branded Content comments: “Dan brings a wealth of experience in both consumer magazines and branded content to our editorial team, as well as extensive knowledge of the travel and outdoors sectors. I’m excited about the input he’ll have on our editorial team and know he’ll play a major role in our growth plans for the business.”

Dan Linstead said: "I'm delighted to be joining Immediate Media Branded Content at a very exciting time for the company. Immediate Media Co's consumer brands are much-loved household names that resonate with readers throughout the UK and beyond, and I am very much looking forward to working on existing titles and developing fresh content ideas for new clients with the Branded Content team.”
