Marketing Assistant, Who Do You Think You Are? Live
The Event
Who Do You Think You Are? Live is entering its seventh year and is an established event within the Family History market. It attracted over 12,500 visitors in 2012 and is a one-stop shop for anyone interested in their genealogy.
The Job
Provide the tactical marketing activity to deliver the strategic positioning of WDYTYA? Live achieving visitor attendance and ticket revenue targets.
Job Accountabilities and Responsibilities
§ In conjunction with the WDYTYA? Live team, deliver marketing strategies to position the event as a market leading proposition
§ Execute the marketing plan to ensure all media relations, advertising, direct mail, online, promotional events and PR activities are provided to generate maximum exposure and ticket sales.
o Ensure all advertising deadlines are met with appropriate ads placed
o Ensure timely delivery of copy and images as requested by outside parties
o Maintain excellent relationships with existing press contacts
§ Help in the management of all supplier and advertising agency output and relationships (PR, direct mail, printers, ATL, media, online)
§ Work closely with the Marketing Manager to fulfil commitments to sponsors, media partners and stakeholders
§ Develop and maintain event website using content management system and managing the forum, ensure banner advertising is placed correctly, manage reporting.
§ Manage and develop all social media as required
§ Generate and send weekly e-newsletters
§ Produce all campaign materials through liaising with appropriate in-house departments and external suppliers
§ Circulate weekly daily ticket reports
§ Ensure all activities fall within the requirements as laid down by the Advertising Standards Board, and all activities fall within the “Office of Fair Trading” directives and the industry regulatory bodies. Particular care to be taken with the UK Data Protection Act.
Minimum knowledge/experience/training/qualifications
Qualifications:
§ Likely to have a university qualification in media or marketing.
Experience:
§ Minimum of one years experience in marketing/PR/media.
Knowledge/Skills:
§ Good knowledge of marketing concepts
§ Good planning and organisational skills
§ Good creative writing skills and high standards of literacy
§ Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines a must
§ Ability to work independently

The jobholder is required to work independently within the framework laid down and in any absence of the Marketing Manager. The jobholder must be able to work hard under pressure and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
Attention to Detail & Quality
The ability to consistently produce error-free output is essential as the jobholder will be providing information both internally and to external third parties.
